Workshops “Financial Decision Making” & “Corporate Credit” 2016
The Institute for Financial Education Aruba (Stichting Opleidingen Financiële Sector), in cooperation with the Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants (NBA), is organising two workshops on the topics of “Financial Decision Making” and “Corporate Credit” for financial service providers such as bankers, insurers, accountants, controllers, compliance officers and supervisors.
These two interactive one-day workshops will both be presented by Mr. Hans Haanappel.

FINANCIAL DECISION MAKING === MONDAY, MAY 9th, 2016
The one day workshop “Financial Decision Making” provides the participants with key skills and tools required to evaluate strategic, operational and capital structure decisions from a financial perspective. The workshop equips the participants with excel based tools and decision criteria that enable them to objectively analyse and evaluate alternatives from a solid theoretical financial basis. More specifically the following topics will be covered:

Opportunity cost of capital
Building the financial business case
Forecasting cash flows
Capital budgeting analysis
Return on Investment
Net present value
(Modified) Internal Rate of Return
Decision Tree Analysis
Sensitivity and scenario analysis
Classification of cost
Cost, volume and profit analysis
Cost allocation and profitability analysis
Decision making on cost: relevant versus irrelevant cost
Pricing and transfer pricing decision
Capital structure analysis:
The Weighted Average Cost of Capital
Risk and return
Cost of equity
Cost of debt
Debt/equity trade off
Leasing versus borrowing
To hedge or not?
The students will apply the learnings and frameworks to excel based case studies.
