Workshops “Financial Decision Making” & “Corporate Credit” 2016

The Institute for Financial Education Aruba (Stichting Opleidingen Financiële Sector), in cooperation with the Nederlandse Beroepsorganisatie van Accountants (NBA), is organising two workshops on the topics of “Financial Decision Making” and “Corporate Credit” for financial service providers such as bankers, insurers, accountants, controllers, compliance officers and supervisors.

These two interactive one-day workshops will both be presented by Mr. Hans Haanappel.

Price: Afl. 900,- per person per workshop or Afl. 1800 for both (includes lunch)
PE points: 8 per workshop or 16 points for both


The one day workshop “Corporate Credit” provides the participants amongst others with an overview of different debt financing instruments, how to model, price and structure a debt package In addition, the workshop covers credit analysis and credit ratings. More specifically the following topics will be covered:

Overview of different corporate debt instruments
IFRS treatment of different debt instruments
Valuation and pricing of corporate debt
Evaluating and maximizing debt capacity
Capita selecta in corporate credit
Covenants and covenant testing
Sweep payments
Debt push down
Interest rate hedging
Loan documentation
Credit analysis and credit ratings:
Introduction to credit ratings
Default risk and loss given default
Rating process for corporate and instrument ratings
Credit risk analysis
The students will apply the learnings to excel based case study and structure and model a debt package in a hypothetical refinancing. Based on the new debt structure, the participants will re-assess the credit risk and rating of the company.
